Communication Portal

One of the primary advantages of SPS is that it automatically communicates information between the individuals within your company by allowing them to share information. SPS utilizes a full-feature mail server (known as the "SPMS") as a centralized medium for communication between SPS users and applications. Compliance with Internet mail standards extends this functionality to the world outside of SPS.

Mail can be sent and retrieved from Internet Service Providers (ISP) using automated mail server functions. The SPMS supports both outbound SMTP (simple mail transfer protocol) and POP3 (post office protocol version 3) protocols in order to send and retrieve messages with an ISP. Both the SPMS and the SPS Email Client comply strictly with Internet MIME standards for email, including the ability to send and receive mail with HTML markups, attachments, and links to applications (as is the case with the Email Client and Issue Notification programs of the SPS).

Mail Server Features

  • Custom Mail Processing (either those received or those to be sent) based upon specified subject, sender, or addressee criteria.

  • Fast and easy configuration through one central web-based interface.

  • Multiple user email aliases provide the ability to collect mail from a number of mail servers into a common SPS user account.

Web-enabled Email Client Features

  • No additional configuration required beyond the standard SPS user login and password. This means that a single login allows a user to access SPS and the user’ mail accounts.

  • Issue notification and resolutions from SPS sent as email application links.

  • Address book integrated with company contact database so that company contacts will never be kept simply on an individual PC.

  • Create attachments from company electronic file cabinet insuring access to company documents that are always current.
