Schools' network

Welcome to the Schools' network section where you can find contact details of schools interested in forming partnerships with deaf schools around the world.

As this website develops and expands, we hope the Schools' network section will become a valuable resource for teachers of the deaf; facilitating partnerships and links with schools around the globe.

This initiative is a first and important step toward establishing a strong network of deaf schools worldwide encouraging information exchange and peer on peer support for pupils and teachers alike.

DFID Global School Partnerships
The DFID Global School Partnerships programme promotes partnerships between
schools in the UK, Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. The
programme is a consortium initiative of the British Council, Cambridge
Education Foundation, UK One World Linking Association (UKOWLA) and
Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), funded by the Department for International
Development (DFID).

Ultimately, the programme hopes to increase awareness amongst education
professionals of the benefits of school partnerships and the value of
embedding a global dimension within the formal curriculum. It also aims to
contribute to a greater appreciation within the wider community of the value
of partnerships between developed and developing countries.
The programme can provide guidance, professional development opportunities
and grants to schools that are using school partnerships as a means for
developing a global dimension within the curriculum.

If you are thinking of approaching another school to set up a partnership,
you may find the Global School Partnerships web pages very useful. For
further information please visit the Global School Partnerships website.
