Q.  What is Report Builder?

Report Builder is the customization tool that enables you to create custom reports for contacts and tickets.   Each report relates to a category of contacts or tickets and can include any field of information stored with SPS.

Q.  Why do I need to create reports?

SPS is a very customizable system.   The tickets you create can be totally unique to your business.    This unique functionality makes SPS very useful.   You may decide to create a unique ticket to automate a process.    Having done so, you will likely decide to create a report so that you can analyze the information captured by these tickets.

Q.  What are filters?

Filters are the search criteria that SPS utilizes to determine which contacts or tickets are included on a report.   Filters may consist of standard and/or custom fields.

Q.  Can I run a report that has filters without using the filters?

Yes.   By clicking on Find you can execute a report using adhoc filters.   All standard fields and custom fields are available as search criteria.   Only the fields that you modify will be considered as part of the search criteria.

Q.  If I include a field on a report, will everyone be able to see it?

Only users with ownership rights to the information will be able to see the information.   Users without ownership rights will get a blank column.
