Paper synopsis

This project report from May 1999 provides a detailed account of the background to the China Sign bilingual project supported by the Amity Foundation and Save the Children UK. It also provides useful information of a visit made to the project by UK consultants and includes a commentary on developments in Chinese schools for deaf children in Jiangsu, Yunnan and Anhui Provinces.

You can also download an additional and more recent report written by Pete Makey entitled: "Developing Sign Bilingual provision for young deaf children in China: Training and Consultancy to the Kunming (Yunnan) and Hefei (Anhui) Programmes in November/December 2000"
